  • Indeed yes. I still like the original L&O with the current cast, but it was the best with Jerry Orbach. Yet even today, I'll still occasionally come across a rerun with Lenny Briscoe that I've never seen, and what a treat it is. R.I.P., Jerry Orbach.

  • The film clip gave away the whole film! However, the story and the scenery look just lovely. I've visited Verona twice -- absolutely beautiful city. They don't call Italian a Romance language for nothing ...

  • I don't agree. Just Plain Me (above) gives the theory that Leno did not want to appear as if he wasn't wanted when Conan gave NBC the Tonight Show ultimatum. I think there was also an element of being a good company man and go along with NBC -- plus he was being given a prime time slot.

  • It is truly a wonderful day when a consummate pro like Betty White can show how comedy is done, and done excellently well, by someone who's nearly 90. I wonder if the few naysayers on this blog will be doing HALF as well as she is doing right now when they are HALF her age.

  • The whole Tonight Show move to Conan was Conan's idea. Leno went along with it because he's always been a company man. But retire at age 60 or so? No way did Leno really want to do that. Instead he stood by and let Conan hoist himself on his own petard of poor ratings.

  • Exactly: it's news BECAUSE Jason Alexander did the right thing. Too often we hear of Hollywood stars who hit and run and are later arrested. I'm glad to hear the teenager wasn't seriously injured.
